Housekeeping Note

I've finished the Grapes of Wrath and started a Studs Terkel book. UPDATE: The Terkel book I started is "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" It's got plenty of interesting stories, although I'm kind of skipping around to find the most interesting.

Which one? I read "Working" many years ago. I bought "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" a year ago, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I first discovered "Working" when I was probably about 12 or 13. I was in the school library and out of the corner of my eye, noticed a book whose title I misinterpreted as: "Working Studs". My interest was piqued, until I realized that it wasn't a book about male commercial sex workers. I've never read "Working", but I did read Gig a few years ago, which bills itself as a sequel to "Working".

That is exactly how I found "Working", in my school library when I was a young teen. I had just recently discovered Mike Royko and was hungry for anything about blue collar Chicago life.
